Womack backs off on Obama teleprompter

Posted By on Fri, Feb 18, 2011 at 6:28 AM

A Republican of my acquaintance sends a note and link: "Please make fun of this opportunistic douchebag."

Gladly. The d'bag would be U.S. Rep. Steve Womack, who won much-desired national attention saying he hoped to zero out money in the budget for President Obama's teleprompter. Somehow, his idea got a $5 million price tag attached.

The link supplied says Womack is backing off the idea because he never could get a figure for the cost of the equipment. Just made the first one up, I guess. He also said he'd made his point. Yes, a point was made here. Steve Womack is not a serious representative of the people. He's an opportunistic headline-grabber who believes trivia is more important than substantive work.
