Annals of civil discourse — Obama threat

Posted By on Fri, Feb 25, 2011 at 11:21 AM

An attendee at a session with Republican Rep. Paul Broun brought the crazy to the public meeting.

An elderly man asked the Georgia Tea Party congressman who's going to shoot President Obama.

Broun today is denouncing the statement and says he acted appropriately by not dignifying the question with a response. But a press account saw it differently.

The unidentified town hall attendee's question got a big laugh from the audience, reports Blake Aued of the Athens Banner-Herald.

But Broun didn't exactly condemn the remark, according to the newspaper report.

"The thing is, I know there's a lot of frustration with this president. We're going to have an election next year," Broun said in response to the question.

Funny bunch.
