Mike Huckabee: Lies/misspeaks again

Posted By on Thu, Mar 3, 2011 at 9:38 AM

Mike Huckabee continues to dig himself deeper on branding President Obama a Kenyan. Media Matters notes Huckabee's interview with Bill O'Reilly in which he cites a reference in his own book that a check shows didn't exist. Media Matters calls it a lie. Huckabee undoubtedly would call it yet another harmless verbal gaffe overblown by the leftwing media. The fact is he's been peddling Obama among the Mau Maus repeatedly. The other sad fact is that this stuff probably only helps him with Republican primary voters — majority birther and worse.

This story should be over, but Huckabee himself keeps fueling it. He clearly thinks it's a winner. God help us if he's right.

The Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality has denied a new permit for the C&H Hog Farms' concentrated animal feeding operation near Mount Judea (Newton County). This is a big and somewhat surprising victory for critics who have viewed C&H's large-scale pig farm and the pig waste it generates as an existential threat to the Buffalo National River.
