Huckabee would reimpose gay military ban

Posted By on Tue, Mar 22, 2011 at 12:10 PM

Mike Huckabee would work to pass legislation to reimpose a ban on gay military service.

I suspect he's serious, given his many over-the-top comments on homosexuality over the years. But it's worth noting what type of voter controls the Iowa caucus, first up in presidential consideration. Those would be the people who recalled state Supreme Court justices for opening the way to same-sex marriage in Iowa.

Huckabee says he's sure — despite broader surveys to the contrary — that "combat troops" oppose gay military service.

Think Progress explains why Huckabee is so wrong, again.

  • Another Republican miracle-working governor

Great piece in Washington Post on the budget crisis in Louisiana. Big tax cuts and corporate welfare will do that to a state, particularly to a state whose previous governor, Republican Bobby Jindal, refused to join the Obamacare-funded Medicaid expansion. There's a lesson there for Arkansas.
