Cary Gaines gets four months in prison

Posted By on Fri, Apr 22, 2011 at 10:56 AM

Former North Little Rock Alderman Cary Gaines received a four-month federal prison sentence — not the home detention prosecutors had recommended — for conspiring to set up kickbacks on city jobs to pay off his gambling debts. Judge Bill Wilson declined to let Gaines off without prison time.

Details from the Democrat-Gazette.

Gaines had cooperated with prosecutors in an investigation that landed a Cabot bookie and another former alderman, Sam Baggett.
