MedCath sells Arkansas Heart Hospital to LR physician

Posted By on Mon, May 9, 2011 at 8:20 AM

Little Rock physician Bruce Murphy has bought MedCath Corp.'s majority share in the Arkansas Heart Hospital. He was already an investor in the hospital and bought control through a company he controls.

MedCath has been shucking hospital interests around the country.

MedCath will net about $60 million from sale of its 70 percent interest.

Murphy was a plaintiff in the successful lawsuit over the Baptist Medical System's effort to deny staff privileges to doctors with interests in competing hospitals.
