Rick Crawford: Liar

Posted By on Tue, May 10, 2011 at 6:53 AM

Oops. U.S. Rep. Rick Crawford said during his congressional campaign he'd paid all his health care debts from a bankrupt period in his life in 1998. The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette has apparently come up with the concrete evidence that that is not true (though his dodging of the question months ago indicated he was prevaricating). So what's the Republican congressman to do? Blame his predicament on those who'd leak his true credit history and ask for an FBI investigation.

Crawford is all too reminiscent of Tina Fey's latest sendup of Sarah Palin: "I hope the lamestream media won't twist my words by repeating them verbatim."

Crawford, by the way, has STILL not answered the question of whether he finally settled his bad debts in 2010 for campaign reasons, as the D-G article indicated. Maybe somebody will ask him at a town hall, while also asking about his vote to end Medicare and cut taxes for the rich. Deadbeat. Dishonest. Deadly to the less fortunate not covered by the deluxe federal health care plan he enjoys.
