Griffin votes to continue military discrimination

Posted By on Thu, May 12, 2011 at 6:35 AM

Yes, U.S. Rep. Tim Griffin is on the House Armed Services Committee and yes he joined the Republican majority that voted to delay implementation of legal service of gay people in the military. Poll after poll show that Republicans are behind the public opinion curve on ending bigotry and prejudice, but they just can't quit beating up on gays. It's part of their political DNA.

Remember when Vic Snyder represented the 2nd District on Armed Services?

  • Another Republican miracle-working governor

Great piece in Washington Post on the budget crisis in Louisiana. Big tax cuts and corporate welfare will do that to a state, particularly to a state whose previous governor, Republican Bobby Jindal, refused to join the Obamacare-funded Medicaid expansion. There's a lesson there for Arkansas.
