The LRPD might be a little slow going after drivers of reported hit-and-run drivers with legislative plates, but it's true they have other fish to fry.

Arrest announced of man suspected in a string of robberies: Clifford Fairchild was collared at Markham and Pulaski on six robbery counts: at a McDonald's, Family Dollar (two counts), Kitchen Express, KFC and Church's Chicken.

UPDATE: Also on the police report today, a homicide last night:

Officers responded to 1424 E. 11th in reference to a car on fire with a person inside the vehicle. Officers located Jason Ford, B/M, 11-22-91, inside a white Chevrolet Lumina with at least one gunshot wound to the head. Officers also located Kilo Doss, B/M, 09-11-92, suffering with a gunshot wound to the right arm.

Doss advised that he and Ford pulled up to East View Terrace and an unknown subject came up to the vehicle and shot into the car multiple times.
