Raymond Frazier to lottery commission

Posted By on Thu, May 19, 2011 at 11:02 AM

Raymond Frazier, who has spent the last ten years as Community Affairs Specialist for U.S. Senator Blanche Lincoln, will fill the spot on the Arkansas Lottery Commission vacated by Joe White. Frazier was appointed by Speaker of the House Robert Moore. "It was important for me to appoint someone to this position who is not only highly qualified, but who will do a good job representing all the people of Southeast Arkansas. Raymond has been dedicated to serving his state, and the Delta, throughout his career, and that spirit of service will be an asset to the Commission," Moore said in a press release. Frazier is African-American. Before his appointment, Dr. George Hammons was the sole African-American representative on the lottery board. Frazier takes the place of White, who voted twice to fire Lottery Director Ernie Passailaigue. In case you are wondering, there is no relation to Bridgette Frazier, the former staff attorney for the lottery who is now suing her former bosses.
