Arkansas housing sales plunge

Housing sales in Arkansas were down 23 percent in April compared with April 2010, the Arkansas Realtors Association says. The group, which compiles data on 42 counties in the state, put the drop down to severe weather — heavy rain, flooding and storms that afflicted the state for almost half the month. People were also hurrying last year to cash in on a big tax break. Prices were down 2 percent from a year ago. Full report here.
