Take a bike to work

Posted By on Sat, Jun 4, 2011 at 7:06 AM

Wait, let's find another word for "take."

Article in NY Times today talks about New York's plan to start a bike-share program. Many complications, including concerns from residents about loss of sidewalk space.

Good luck to them. How many days did it take for all the bikes in Little Rock's little bike-share program to disappear? Or was it just hours? Such programs are now more sophisticated, of course, with computerized kiosks and rental fees. The honor system proved non-viable. Photo is of a bike-share rack in Montreal.

My colleagues John Ray and Jesse Bacon and I estimate, in the first analysis of its kind for the 2018 election season, that the president's waning popularity isn't limited to coastal cities and states. The erosion of his electoral coalition has spread to The Natural State, extending far beyond the college towns and urban centers that voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016. From El Dorado to Sherwood, Fayetteville to Hot Springs, the president's approval rating is waning.
