Huckabee's wiggle

Posted By on Tue, Jun 7, 2011 at 6:39 AM

Why would Mike Huckabee leave wiggle room about a presidential run in a speech in Little Rock last week? Just look at the Republican field, John Brummett writes. And he reviews Sarah Palin's midnight ride with Paul Revere.

Sure the Huckster might accept a draft from a grateful party if the poll numbers looked right and he'd salted away a few more months of ready cash.

SPEAKING OF HUCKABEE: A Sacramento Bee columnist writes about a quixotic Republican presidential candidate, Fred Karger, a long-time GOP insider who's waving a gay rights banner. Columnist notes coincidence of Karger's written attack on Mike Huckabee's clemency practices and his decision shortly after not to enter the race.
