State vehicle lawsuit dismissed

Posted By on Tue, Jun 14, 2011 at 3:03 PM

Circuit Judge Wendell Griffen has dismissed a taxpayers lawsuit over state officials' use of state cars for personal purposes. The judge said the suit lacked sufficient facts on which to base a claim and that two defendants hadn't been properly served.

One of the plaintiffs' attorneys, Christopher Brockett, said the suit would be refiled in a month. "Must have more facts and properly serve everyone," he wrote. Another lawyer, Gene Sayre, said they'd likely be filing FOIA requests to provide detail desired by the judge.

Here's the judge's order in the case.

The suit named state agency and college heads, among others.
