Monday thread

The line is open. A final note:

* 'I WAS WRONG ABOUT GAY MARRIAGE': So writes conservative commentator David Frum, who once argued strenuously about the dangers to conventional marriage from same-sex unions. He notes that, since same-sex marriage came on the scene, indicators of family stability generally have improved somewhat. So much for destroying marriage as we know it. But there are troublesome developments, such as the rising rate of out-of-wedlock birth among second-generation Latino families.

Whatever is driving this negative trend, it seems more than implausible to connect it to same-sex marriage. How would it even work that a 15-year-old girl in Van Nuys, California, becomes more likely to have a baby because two men in Des Moines, Iowa, can marry?
