Beebe weighs in on special election

Posted By on Tue, Jun 28, 2011 at 11:08 AM

Gov. Mike Beebe has sent out an e-mail call (through the state Democratic Party) for support for Democratic nominee Hudson Hallum in the special election July 12 for House District 54 from Crittenden County.

His work is important because this is a strange election. There's a former Democrat running as an independent, D'James Rogers, who's tried to claim a Beebe connection in the race. The Beebe e-mail is a definitive putdown to that.

The Republicans have a candidate, John Geelan, and naturally hope the split Democrats will propel them to victory in a traditionally Democratic area.
