'Adult' brownies back on Arkansas shelves

Posted By on Fri, Jul 8, 2011 at 10:46 AM

Remember the hubbub about some melatonin-laced snack foods, jerked from Arkansas shelves because labels didn't adequately inform about additives (though widely available over the counter) not approved for food use? The stuff is marketed as something akin to legal Alice B. Toklas brownies and the usual hysteria ensued about whether children would storm convenience stores for gentle journey fuel.

The "relaxation" brownie Lazy Cakes is now good to go back in Arkansas stores with a change of labeling, the revivified blog Arkansas Project reports. The product will have a new name as well, but the Health Department warns it will continue to monitor this product. Munch on.
