Fatal shooting on Booker Street

Posted By on Tue, Jul 26, 2011 at 9:40 AM

Little Rock police say a 14-year-old male was found about 3:45 a.m. today in an alley off the 1300 block of Booker Street with a fatal gunshot wound in his abdomen. He also was shot in the buttocks. He's been identified as Decree Thomas, 14, of 3219 W. 8th Street. No suspect or motives and people who live nearby said they heard gunshots, but didn't see what transpired.

The police also reported another unrelated shooting Monday afternoon. Jose Lopez, 19, was shot in the head while fleeing four men in a car who tried to rob him outside La Frontera restaurant at 4918 Baseline. The wound was not life-threatening.

  • Another Republican miracle-working governor

Great piece in Washington Post on the budget crisis in Louisiana. Big tax cuts and corporate welfare will do that to a state, particularly to a state whose previous governor, Republican Bobby Jindal, refused to join the Obamacare-funded Medicaid expansion. There's a lesson there for Arkansas.
