Byers points finger in killing

Before the court hearing this morning, John Mark Byers, the adoptive father of Christopher Byers, told members of the media he felt Terry Hobbs, the stepfather of Stevie Branch, was the real killer. Byers also had a lot of other things to say.

Hobbs has been a familiar target of suspicion for years. Mara Leveritt reviewed his role in the case — and his denials of responsbility — at some length in 2007.
