Schools as jobs stimulus

John Brummett writes today of the expectation that President Obama will push for new stimulus spending in renovating and greening school facilities. It puts more people to work faster than, say, incremental highway projects.

The problem — as ever — is a political atmosphere in which one party's goal is to deny the president his every wish, however small, even his time for a congressional speech. Wait. Corporate tax credits the Republicans might approve.
