Murphy money backs highway bond drive

Posted By on Tue, Sep 6, 2011 at 11:20 AM

Thanks to the Tolbert Report for noting filings in the campaign to get Arkansas voters to approve a new interstate highway repair bond issue. Tolbert reports that the biggest chunk, about $122,000, of the $343,000 raised so far came from the Murphy Foundation (Madison Murphy is chairman of the state Highway Commission). Murphy Oil contributed another $40,000.

Biggest beneficiary? Ad/PR man Craig Douglass has been paid about $162,000 for his services.
