Rabbi Levy retiring

Rabbi Eugene Levy of Congregation B'nai Israel confirms a friend's report that he's retiring — effective Oct. 31. He's been in the pulpit rabbinate for 39 years.

Church leaders are numerous and they come and go regularly. But Rabbi Levy deserves a mention as a stalwart on social justice since coming to Little Rock in 1987. He was a co-founder of the Arkansas Interfaith Alliance.
