Rick Perry caves to heartless immigrant haters

Posted By on Wed, Sep 28, 2011 at 2:28 PM

Tough guy Rick Perry folded to the Tea Party base of the Republican Party. He's apologized to those he said didn't have a heart if they opposed in-state college tuition for children who arrived in the country with undocumented parents.

Mike Huckabee is standing taller than ever amongst the Republican presidential midgets. Of course, the points in his record worthy of cheers — tax increases for education, school consolidation, opposition to vouchers, advocacy for immigrants, government-sponsored health care for kids — make him a tough sell with the angry GOP base.

Great piece in Washington Post on the budget crisis in Louisiana. Big tax cuts and corporate welfare will do that to a state, particularly to a state whose previous governor, Republican Bobby Jindal, refused to join the Obamacare-funded Medicaid expansion. There's a lesson there for Arkansas.
