A common thread — a Christian nation at work

Just noticed a thread in the morning posts:

* Preacher's book offers Bible-based support for whipping children as young as six months old. Three dead at hands of parents who have book.

* The leader of a program for needy children, named for a biblical teaching, "Second Mile," is accused of sexually abusing children in his care.

* A Republican congressman is cool to providing federal support for food for the poor, though not tax breaks for the wealthy.

* Pre-schools run by Republican legislators use tax money to support Bible teaching.
