No charge in 'sexting' case, mom unhappy

Posted By on Fri, Nov 11, 2011 at 11:56 AM

Interesting item from Fox 16: A Faulkner County mom isn't happy that Prosecutor Cody Hiland has declined to press charges against a 17-year-old who sent her 12-year-old daughter text messages asking for nude pictures and urging her not to get caught.

The prosecutor told Fox 16 there was insufficient evidence to bring a charge, apparently because of the difficulty in proving who actually sent or received messages on a phone. Mom says she'll try again in Pulaski County, where the calls were received by her daughter. Mom said she saw numerous nude photos on a phone belonging to the 17-year-old when she was called in to see if her daughter had been victimized.
