Sebastian clerk fires complaining deputies

Posted By on Sat, Nov 19, 2011 at 6:55 AM

Sebastian County Circuit Clerk Ken Blevins has fired two deputies who were among several who complained he created a hostile work environment by sexual harassment, wage discrimination and retaliation. Blevins? Retaliate? The Times-Record in Fort Smith reports. He says the firing, of course, had nothing to do with their earlier complaint.

The EEOC made an inconclusive look at the matter. A federal lawsuit has been threatened. A more immediate concern for Blevins will be a re-election campaign next year.
