NLR emergency sirens triggered accidentally

Posted By on Fri, Dec 9, 2011 at 10:21 AM

North Little Rock emergency sirens went off accidentally about 9:30 a.m. this morning and were heard in Little Rock as well before the three-minute cycle could be completely shut down.

A spokesman said the cause wasn't clear. The dispatch center where sirens are triggered had a short staff at the time and was handling multiple police and fire calls, which could have loosed a radio frequency that triggers the system, but that's only conjecture at this point.

Meanwhile, stand down.
