Broadway Bridge design winner to be announced Wednesday

Metroplan will announce the winner of the design contest for a Broadway Bridge replacement tomorrow morning.

The contest was to spur enthusiasm — and pressure on the Highway Department — to strive for design excellence in a replacement bridge.

Here are details, including drawings of the three finalists.

I'm standing pat. Build a new river crossing at Chester before replacing the Broadway Bridge. I don't want to fight the downtown traffic disaster that will otherwise follow closure of the Broadway bridge for replacement.
