Woman arrested for stabbing child's father

Posted By on Fri, Dec 23, 2011 at 10:21 AM

Carol Denice Burton, 30, was charged with first-degree murder this morning for fatally stabbing Willy Peair, 42, the father of one of her children in the chest at 6819 W. 33rd Street about 2:20 a.m. this morning. Police said five children who were present — aged 1 to 14 — were placed in state custody. When police arrived the victim was found on a bathroom floor, unresponsive, with blood on his face and shirt. Is it redundant to say the police say the stabbing occurred during an argument?

I got the message today before noon; others didn't find out until it was going on. But however folks found out, they turned out in huge numbers, more than thousand men, women and children, on the grounds of the state Capitol to listen to speakers from all faiths and many countries.
