Deaths in cruise ship grounding off Italy

Posted By on Sat, Jan 14, 2012 at 7:23 AM

The big news overnight is a cruise ship calamity off the coast of Italy, The Costa Concordia, carrying more than 4,000, ran aground off Italy and scores remain unaccounted for after evacuation removed most from the boat. Three are confirmed dead.

Those lifeboat drills they require on every cruise? Not much help if they can't lower the lifeboats and you have to crawl along the hallways of a ship lying on its side to get out. Stuff of a scary movie. I'll still be getting on a boat across the Atlantic in March.
