Virginia GOP call police to break up peaceful protest

Posted By on Mon, Mar 5, 2012 at 6:50 AM

This is 11 minutes of video worth watching to see the logical conclusion of the Republican war on women in Virginia. First they take women's rights. And then, when peaceful protesters assemble to march on the state Capitol in Richmond, they are blocked from approaching the Capitol, they are forcibly carried from the steps of the building and finally riot police are called to prevent a peaceful assembly on the steps. It's about what you'd expect from a state happy to force women to have instruments jammed into their genitals. Gov. Bob McDonnell won't be a vice presidential candidate. Or, with this party, maybe he will.

  • Another Republican miracle-working governor

Great piece in Washington Post on the budget crisis in Louisiana. Big tax cuts and corporate welfare will do that to a state, particularly to a state whose previous governor, Republican Bobby Jindal, refused to join the Obamacare-funded Medicaid expansion. There's a lesson there for Arkansas.
