Police investigate bomb threat at Maumelle Middle School

Posted By on Tue, Apr 3, 2012 at 2:48 PM

Maumelle police are sounding the all-clear after a search of Maumelle Middle School following the discovery of a note in a classroom that indicated a bomb had been planted at the school.

Police evacuated the school and searched it with the help of school administrators and staff, but didn't find a bomb. School is back in session now. A press release says Maumelle Police consider the crime a class-A misdemeanor of Communicating a False Alarm.

Today's case brings to mind another bomb threat that was called in to North Little Rock's Poplar Street Middle School back in February. No bomb was found in that instance, either.
