Petrino exchanged 200 texts with Repub bikini model UPDATE

Posted By on Thu, Apr 12, 2012 at 3:11 PM

Bobby Petrino and Alison Melder

In a two-month span last fall, Bobby Petrino exchanged over 200 text messages — including some picture messages — with a cell phone registered to a 26-year-old bikini model and UALR alum who worked with the Young Republicans of Arkansas and on Jim Keet's 2010 run for governor, according to Deadspin.

Deadspin, who identified the phone's owner as Alison Melder, has been kind enough to dig up a link to a portfolio of Melder's work. More from the website The Dirty.

Online, Melder identifies herself as winner of the 2008 Miss Bikini USA and Miss Motorcycle Mania competitions.

UPDATE: Melder has also been a part-time employee of the Arkansas Republican Party since 2011. Financial reports on file, such as here, show she's been paid about $1,770 a month. A GOP spokesman has said she had "various" duties, but no specific job title and that her employment status is under review.

According to her Facebook page, she's from Dumas and her interests are Arkansas Razorbacks football and God.

On her protected Twitter account, she uses this for a description: "Go Lakers, Go Hogs, and Go GOP. (:"

Above, video from Miss Bikini 2008. Depending on where you work, it could be NSFW.

UPDATE: Video deleted already. It's back up, embedded after the jump.

UPDATE II: Lots of deleting going on apparently. A cached version of the Arkansas Young Republicans website from March 29 lists Melder as National Committee Woman. Today, there's no National Committee Woman on the AYR site.
