Here's one for golf fans.

A great feature in today's New York Times on Jack Fleck, upset winner over Ben Hogan in the U.S. Open in 1955.

Fleck, 90, lives in Fort Smith and most days still find him chasing the little white ball on the Hardscrabble Country Club Course. When he's not driving fast around town, he's still driving 250 yards off the tee, generally straight and true.

  • Cats and dogs

I've always been leery of people who dislike animals. To my wife and me, a house without dog hair in the corners and a cat perched on the windowsill is as barren as a highway rest stop. We're down to three dogs and two cats, the smallest menagerie we've had for years.
