Hays, developer tied?

Posted By on Wed, Aug 22, 2012 at 2:39 PM

KARK, Channel 4, has put up a teaser on its Facebook site about North Little Rock's proposal to sell the rock quarry beneath Emerald Park that says Mayor Patrick Hays "has a business relationship" with the developer.

The developer is Real Estate Commercial I Inc., created by Bryon McKimmey. Various blog discussions on the sale — for $1.2 million, more than half a million under appraised value — say John Burkhalter is also involved in the development, which would put condos and apartments on 40 acres of the quarry.
