Monday, Monday

Posted By on Mon, Apr 22, 2013 at 4:37 PM

The line is open. The day is ending quietly.

* LOOKING AHEAD: Sen. Jonathan Dismang, the Beebe Republican, was elected to be president pro tem of the Senate in 2015. He had no opposition. Nobody expects the numbers to change dramatically in the Senate in 2014, but I will note that the last Senate pro tem election produced a Democratic winner, cast aside when the partisan majority changed in a subsequent election. For now, Senate committee leadership isn't controlled by the Senate leader, unlike the House, where the speaker controls those positions. More prestige than power comes with the role.
