A man with a gun robbed one of three students sitting in front of the Kappa Sigma fraternity house at UALR of an iphone last night, campus police report.

Policed were called at 10:42 p.m. to the fraternity house. Police said one of the students told the gunman she had no money; he robbed a second student of the phone. Students said there may have been another person with the gunman. They said he ran east from the frat house toward Fair Park.

The gunman was described as a black male in his early 20s wearing a white shirt with red lettering on the front and dark pants.

Witnesses are asked to contact the Department of Public Safety dispatch office at 569-3400.

I've always been leery of people who dislike animals. To my wife and me, a house without dog hair in the corners and a cat perched on the windowsill is as barren as a highway rest stop. We're down to three dogs and two cats, the smallest menagerie we've had for years.
