STANDING WITH WENDY: A huge crowd of pro-choice demonstrators gathered at the Texas Capitol today as lawmakers began another special session aimed at passing the restrictive abortion legislation defeated last week amid Sen. Wendy Davis filibuster. The session will go at least until next week.

The Monday night line commences. Final thoughts:

* WRONG AND WRONGER: The measure is dead on arrival but a Kansas Republican filed a proposed U.S. constitutional amendment today to ban same-sex marriage. I don't for a minute count the battle for equality won — maybe not even in my lifetime — but if you want a look now at today's Lester Maddoxes, take a look at Huffington Post's list of the 28 sponsors. Somewhat surprisingly, no Arkansas congressman answered the call to homophobia. That's a little progress, at least.
