Pulaski judges report jury scam

Posted By on Tue, Sep 24, 2013 at 11:47 AM

I've heard from a Pulaski circuit judge about a scam targeting people on circuit court jury panels.

At least three members of current panels have told judges of receiving calls from someone purporting to be a Little Rock police lieutenant. The caller says the juror has failed to appear in court twice and an arrest warrant has been issued, which would be recalled on payment of $500.

No juror has fallen for the scam yet, as far as anyone knows. The jurors who were called had NOT failed to appear. It's unclear where the names were obtained by the caller. Juror records are not available on-line, but are in the possession of the individual courts.

A word of warning.
