The Center for American Progress released a report Wednesday on the status of women, compared on a state-by-state basis.

Louisiana was THE worst. But Arkansas was among the worst. Grades were assessed based on political stature, economic security and health measures.

A summary from an article on Huffington Post gives you a flavor of our company:

Other states that earned an "F" overall in these categories are Utah, Oklahoma, Alabama, Mississippi, Texas, Arkansas, South Dakota, Indiana and Georgia.

Overall, Arkansas ranked 44th, with an F. Oddly enough, the state scored 19th, good for a B-, in the economic category. We got a 49 ranking, and an F, in leadership, and a ranking of 38, with a D grade, in health. The economic category includes women's pay compared with men; poverty rates by gender; the relative treatment of men and women under minimum wage and other protective laws, and pre-K programs (an area in which Arkansas has made some progress, now threatened by the legislative budget cutters.)
