Roaches plague Little Rock housing project

Posted By on Tue, Oct 29, 2013 at 6:57 AM

Fox 16 has the day's Big Ick — complaints by residents of the Sunset Terrace public housing project (near the State Fairgrounds) of a roach infestation. The Metropolitan Housing Alliance  says exterminators spray residences monthly, but residents say the chemicals aren't working.

Tiffany Anderson took a Fox 16 reporter on a tour of a home she'd abandoned.

Monday she walked through the five bedroom home and uncovered roaches living under blankets near crusty remains of dead bugs stuck in corners.

Commented another resident, Commecion Pace,

"It's a Dr. Jekyll Mr. Hyde thing, the apartment is nice when you come in but as soon as you put your stuff in and you turn the light on and off, you've got a party going on."

Reminds me of my childhood in fetid SW Louisiana. In even the best of homes, you were well advised to turn on the lights before entering a kitchen at night.
