Interesting news from Politico confirmed by one Arkansan named in the story and, I suspect, the subject of a promised phone call today from another Arkie.

Says Politico:

The research super PAC American Bridge has made a string of hires from within Clintonland for an offshoot project called “Correct the Record,” an effort whose goal is protecting potential 2016 Democratic candidates - with Hillary Clinton chief among them.

The group, which was launched in the 2012 cycle by Clinton ally and Media Matters founder David Brock, has hired from within Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign, and is getting financial support from two longtime Clinton donors, officials with the group told POLITICO.

Those hires include Arkansan Adrienne Elrod, working recently for U.S. Rep. Loretta Sanchez, and Zac Wright, the political strategist who worked in the Hillary Clinton campaign in 2008 and also worked in the Mike Beebe organization — for a time, as his communications director.

Friends - my apologies for not letting most of you know in advance of this announcement but I wanted to shoot you all a quick note and let you know that I've taken a new position with Correct the Record, a new effort to push back against negative misinformation aimed at potential 2016 presidential candidates. I'm very excited about the mission and the opportunity to work with an extraordinary team.

I have a message to call Wright today. I think I can guess the subject.

  • Where's the outrage?

Am I the only person, apart from federal prosecutors, outraged about the criminal enterprise that inveigled itself into a privileged position as an Arkansas taxpayer-financed human services provider to the tune, today, of $43 million a year?

  • Trump immigration protest at LR: Quick and fierce

It was not even 24 hours ago that Sophia Said, director of the Interfaith Center; City Director Kathy Webb and others decided to organize a protest today of Donald Trump's executive order that has left people from Muslim countries languishing in airports or unable to come to the US at all — people with visas, green cards,a  post-doc graduate student en route to Harvard, Google employees abroad, families. I got the message today before noon; others didn't find out until it was going on. But however folks found out, they turned out in huge numbers, more than thousand men, women and children, on the grounds of the state Capitol to listen to speakers from all faiths and many countries.
