French Hill a 'young gun'; GOP opponents disarmed

The National Republican Congressional Committee announced today that it is "elevating" French Hill, who is running against state RepAnn Clemmer and Col. Conrad Reynolds for the Republican nomination in the 2nd District Congress race, to "On the Radar" "Young Gun" status in the Young Gun program.

The press release makes a funny slip in its announcement, noting that "Moll is running in Arkansas’ Second Congressional District." Someone had Tommy Moll, Republican candidate in the Fourth District, on the mind. Like Hill, Moll is "On the Radar" of the Young Guns, a somewhat mixed metaphor that indicates the candidates will get support from the national party. Moll also has Republican opposition: Rep. Bruce Westerman.

Maybe Reynolds is too old to be a Young Gun. Not sure what disqualified Clemmer. The NRCC likes this about Hill: "Hill has seen firsthand the struggles and challenges that businesses in Arkansas and across the country face."

Note to "huffer": Thank you for the clarification on the YG program. Re Reynolds: That was a joke, a lame one, obviously. Reynolds is 53, which by my lights is pretty young.
