that in a speech focused on the healthcare law today, President Barack Obama will also touch on economic issues, including a call to raise the federal minimum wage. Meanwhile, Senate Democrats are reportedly considering a vote on the minimum wage before Christmas.

Sen. Mark Pryor has brought up minimum wage hikes before against his challenger Rep. Tom Cotton, who voted against a raise in the House, so Pryor may see some political opportunity here.
