Centennial Bank branch on Broadway in LR robbed this morning, suspect detained

Posted By on Fri, Dec 6, 2013 at 12:48 PM

You may be iced in at home, but the criminals are still hard at work. Lt. Sidney Allen with the Little Rock Police Department reports that the Centennial Bank branch on Broadway in Little Rock was robbed this morning just after 10 a.m.

Allen said a man entered the bank and demanded money, but didn't show a gun. The suspect fled the bank, but a police K-9 dog and handler were able to track the suspect to a waiting vehicle. Police said the suspect managed to flee in the vehicle before he could be detained.

The suspect vehicle was later abandoned near 6th and Sherman in Little Rock, and a man was taken into custody after a brief search of the surrounding neighborhood. The as-yet-unnamed man is currently being interviewed to see if he was involved in this morning's robbery.
