Food stamp cuts hurt Walmart. Now there's a constituent Tom Cotton might care about.

I hardly need to elaborate on the screen shot from CNN.

Yes, you read correctly. Walmart earnings are down in part because of federal cuts in the food stamp budget. Real people who do penny-wise shopping at the Arkansas-based retail chain can't buy as much when allotments are cut.

Remember that Extremist Republican Sen. Tom Cotton thinks we haven't cut food stamps nearly enough.

Over at the state Capitol, food stamp cuts aren't of much concern to the Republicans in charge at the legislature. Nor to any of their favored employees. But Walmart? Now that's something else.

PS — I guess Tom would just say these deadbeats could just trade-in their new Cadillac Escalades and stop buying lobsters and talking on their iPhones. Remember his famous screed?
