The Little Rock Police Department has identified K-9 Officer Paul Evans, 39, as the officer who shot an armed robbery suspect who reportedly pointed a gun at the officer after a police dog failed to subdue him. The suspect, Michael McCormack, remains hospitalized.

McCormack, 30, was shot after the robbery of a Mapco on Stagecoach Road. Police says he's also been named in arrest warrants for robberies of a Bank of the Ozarks branch and Tom and Jean's Grocery. McCormack ran from the store with $130 and $10 worth of Bud Light. He was found hiding nearby.
