The Log Cabin Democrat reports that a jury in Van Buren County has convicted Jack Gillean of all charges in his trial on burglary charges related to use of a master key by a student to get copies of exams.

Gillean, the former chief of staff at UCA, faced six burglary counts. Gillean didn't testify, but his attorney argued that the student, given immunity for testimony, took keys without Gillean's knowledge. The prosecution argued that other witnesses corroborated the story.

The jury deliberated less than two hours. The trial was held in Clinton because of pre-trial publicity in Faulkner County, where the crime occurred.

UPDATE: The Log Cabin reports that the jury  sentenced Gillean to three years in prison, 10 years probation, and a $35,000 fine.
