Wal-Mart sues Visa over swipe fees

Wal-Mart Stores Inc.
has filed an antitrust suit in federal court in the Western District of Arkansas against Visa Inc., accusing Visa of excessive charges in card swipe fees between Jan. 1, 2004, and Nov. 27, 2012. and seeking $5 billion. 

Reuters' report on the lawsuit notes that Visa and MasterCard agreed to a $5.7 billion settlement in suits filed by merchants. Besides Wal-Mart, Amazon.com Inc. and MasterCard opted to file their own suits.
