KARK reports that two men were arrested Tuesday night in Vilonia for trying to steal copper wiring from damaged homes in the tornado-ravaged city.

James Howard, 29, and Dustin Houston, 27, of Morrilton were arrested. They were charged with theft, trespass and possession of instruments of crime, all misdemeanors according to the Log Cabin Democrat in Conway.

Vilonia Police Chief Brad McNew told the Log Cabin Democrat the men were caught stealing copper wire and compressors from air conditioners in the Parkwood Subdivison. They reportedly started tossing items from their truck when a police officer approached.
